Hydrotherapy for Dogs
Swimming is the ideal activity for all dogs young or old. It offers a non weight bearing exercise that avoids all the stresses and strains on the dog. Any dog that is suffering from conditions such as arthritis, hip dysplasia, cruciate ligament injury and many more problems will benefit from a controlled swimming activity as it helps strengthen muscles without risking further injury and can, in some cases, remove the need to give medication. For post-operative dogs, Hydrotherapy removes the weight loading on the injured limb and will facilitate the gradual rebuilding of wasted muscle. It reduces the pain and can accelerate recovery after surgery.
